6th Annual Orthopaedic Update for Allied Healthcare Professions Coming to Orlando July 31

Seminar Focuses on Latest Advances in Orthopaedic Technology and Surgical Procedures,
Donates Proceeds to UCF Student Physical Therapy Association

Orlando Orthopaedic Center announced today their 2010 Sixth Annual Orthopaedic Update for Allied Healthcare Professions will again bring the latest technology and surgical procedures used to treat orthopaedic conditions and sports medicine injuries to Orlando on July 31.

Conference leaders and speakers will fly in from around the country to take part in the nationally recognized educational seminar with proceeds being donated to the University of Central Florida Student Physical Therapy Association.

Topics include orthopaedic issues and injuries associated with musculoskeletal trauma, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot conditions as well as rehabilitation considerations for non-operative treatment options, pre-surgical therapy options and post-surgical therapy protocols.

To date, there are already more than 350 attendees pre-registered for the event from across the U.S. Guests typically include physical therapists/physical therapy assistants, physician assistants, certified athletic trainers, advanced registered nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physicians and more.

Over the course of the five year event, more than $7,000 has been donated back to the UCF Student Physical Therapy Association in an effort to help students experience the orthopaedic profession hands-on.

“It’s a great honor for us to be putting on our sixth consecutive summer orthopaedic update seminar that not only allows fellow healthcare professionals to get the training they require, but gives us the opportunity to donate back to a top-quality student organization focused on our industry,” says Bob Hammons, director of client services and sports medicine outreach coordinator for Orlando Orthopaedic Center. “Technology moves so fast, having the ability to show the attendees how these advances impact, or will impact, their everyday functions is a huge asset to them and a great honor for us.”
