Below are some of the responses from a recent patient survey that asked, do you have any comments or recommendations on how Orlando Orthopaedic Center can better serve you and your family? These are a few of the comments we received.
"Dear Dr. Goll,
As you might recall, my surgery September 1st seemingly went very well; I woke with a complete absence of referred pain and amazingly little incision pain. I was thrilled, and surprised when I was able to walk over 8,000 feet the second day after surgery. You did something very right! I continue to improve and look forward to our follow-up appointment on the 28th.
While in the hospital, we discussed my impressions of how well the staff at your office performed and what a surprisingly pleasant experience I've had there, especially compared to experiences at other places.
Well, I'm now off of all drugs and still feel strongly that you've achieved something rather special in the attitude projected to your patients. Not to detract from my appreciation of your surgical skills-I'm amazed and thrilled-but I do want to also recognize the achievement of OOC management in creating a consistent, pleasant face to your "customers". And especially to the folks that make this real; not just a policy.

"Dear Dr. Goll,
I have been coming to Orlando Orthopaedic for several months, finally having back surgery September 1st. You've been great, but I am writing to comment on the overall experience of dealing with your organization.
As a patient, I don't see just you, but rather you bundled inside layers of procedures, staff and assistants. All valuable and necessary parts of the process, but too often a frustrating and unpleasant journey before you get 'to see the Wizard'."
As I came to your office more often, I started to recognize that everything seemed to be consistently done well. Sort of like when I first went to Disney and wondered, 'how do they get every little thing right?'
Your folks do. Certainly there is leadership, someone decided to think of patients as customers, but it is the staff that makes it real. From the inside, you can't see what the patient experiences and I want to pass on one observation by an outsider.
It's said you can feel someone smiling over the phone. I don't know if they're grinning when I call, but no one is frowning and have always seemed genuinely interested in helping me. The front desk, the PT folks, even those you hide the pain management dungeon, all have been remarkably sincere and helpful. The Patient Care Team (Lori) was especially pro-active in getting my surgery set up.
What is so remarkable to me though, is how folks make it all work, consistently. Outstanding individuals are rare enough, but everyone doing their part is so noticeably well, seemingly every time, is truly an accomplishment.
