Below are some of the responses from a recent patient survey that asked, do you have any comments or recommendations on how Orlando Orthopaedic Center can better serve you and your family? These are a few of the comments we received.
I had my first surgery with Dr. Rosen about three and a half
years ago when he did a complete knee replacement on my right knee. Then, a few
months ago, he did a complete replacement on my left knee as well. Both
surgeries have improved my life dramatically; and I’m so thankful to Dr. Rosen
and his entire staff.
I put off having the second knee surgery for various
reasons, but I wound up on a cane and my quality of life was diminishing. I was
afraid I would wind up in a wheelchair as I grew older. But what really
inspired me to have the surgery was when a sweetheart of mine from 50 years ago
called me out of the blue five months ago and invited me to go dancing. We
danced our entire courtship in college, but I knew I couldn’t dance in the
condition I was in; so, I went and had it done. Today I continue to improve and
I’m excited to say we’re going to have our dancing date soon! We’re going to
dance the night away until the wee hours of the morning, just like we used to
and I owe it to Dr. Rosen.
I live on my own so being self-sufficient in my day-to-day
life was also important to me. I’m happy to report that after a few months of
rehab and therapy, I don’t use a cane anymore and I don’t have to rely on
people as much, which is just wonderful.
Dr. Rosen is an exceptional person and surgeon; he’s very
efficient and was a pleasure to be around. He takes time with you and talks
directly to you, which is a nice change from most doctors. He’ll tell you
exactly what your situation is and what your prospects are, pro and con. I have
a lot of respect for him – he has liberated me.
I also need to commend his staff as well. They are extremely
efficient and helpful and they always went above and beyond what they needed to
do to accommodate and inform me. They were truly wonderful. With that great
support group, it’s no wonder he can be as successful as he is.

excellent professional, hardworking, a good listener, compassionate, who is
able to put the medical science aside and his patients needs first and go

Dr. Topoleski and staff,
My husband and I wanted to
personally thank you for the outstanding care that you provided our son, Aaron
yesterday. As you can imagine, it is always a frightening experience when
your child is injured but you and your staff helped minimize our worries.
After going to the Urgent Care Center and realized he had a broken arm, I
called your office and I believe it was Priscilla that answered the phone and got
us an appointment very quickly. From the time, we were brought back to
the room, Nurse Ryan immediately connected with Aaron and made him laugh.
She was so gracious to continue to talk with him and even let him pick from the
treasure box.
Dr. Topoleski-once you came in and
met Aaron, you really put us and he at ease with your wonderful sense of
compassion. My husband and I are so appreciative how you handled a very
frightening experience in our son's life to making it so much easier. I want
you to know that last night before he went to bed Aaron said, "I want to
be a bone doctor so I can help other children like my doctor did
today".
We just wanted to thank you all from
the bottom of our hearts for being such a wonderful team yesterday. Words
can't express our gratitude enough. I would recommend you and your staff
anytime!

"Dear Dr. Goll,
As you might recall, my surgery September 1st seemingly went very well; I woke with a complete absence of referred pain and amazingly little incision pain. I was thrilled, and surprised when I was able to walk over 8,000 feet the second day after surgery. You did something very right! I continue to improve and look forward to our follow-up appointment on the 28th.
While in the hospital, we discussed my impressions of how well the staff at your office performed and what a surprisingly pleasant experience I've had there, especially compared to experiences at other places.
Well, I'm now off of all drugs and still feel strongly that you've achieved something rather special in the attitude projected to your patients. Not to detract from my appreciation of your surgical skills-I'm amazed and thrilled-but I do want to also recognize the achievement of OOC management in creating a consistent, pleasant face to your "customers". And especially to the folks that make this real; not just a policy.

"Dear Dr. Goll,
I have been coming to Orlando Orthopaedic for several months, finally having back surgery September 1st. You've been great, but I am writing to comment on the overall experience of dealing with your organization.
As a patient, I don't see just you, but rather you bundled inside layers of procedures, staff and assistants. All valuable and necessary parts of the process, but too often a frustrating and unpleasant journey before you get 'to see the Wizard'."
As I came to your office more often, I started to recognize that everything seemed to be consistently done well. Sort of like when I first went to Disney and wondered, 'how do they get every little thing right?'
Your folks do. Certainly there is leadership, someone decided to think of patients as customers, but it is the staff that makes it real. From the inside, you can't see what the patient experiences and I want to pass on one observation by an outsider.
It's said you can feel someone smiling over the phone. I don't know if they're grinning when I call, but no one is frowning and have always seemed genuinely interested in helping me. The front desk, the PT folks, even those you hide the pain management dungeon, all have been remarkably sincere and helpful. The Patient Care Team (Lori) was especially pro-active in getting my surgery set up.
What is so remarkable to me though, is how folks make it all work, consistently. Outstanding individuals are rare enough, but everyone doing their part is so noticeably well, seemingly every time, is truly an accomplishment.

My mother just had surgery this week with Dr. Mcbride. It cannot express my thankfulness to Dr. Mcbride, and his wonderful team. His PA was so informative and helpful and his office staff is top notch! My mother was able to stand and walk the next day with minimal pain and her fears of immobility are gone!
