This program focuses on evidencebased practices for use of the latest technology and surgical procedures used to treat orthopaedic conditions and injuries associated with musculoskeletal trauma of the knee.  Surgical techniques for knee arthroscopy specifically for an ACL reconstruction will be presented and discussed in a live setting.  It also includes an in-depth look at the pre and post patient preparation, surgical equipment, and related anatomy for an ACL arthroscopy patient.  Program content is designed to assist healthcare providers with acquiring the skills and knowledge to provide quality care, management and to improve patient outcomes with knee pathologies.

Educational Objectives

  1. Identify and discuss ACL tear pathology and the related anatomy in patients that can be addressed with arthroscopic measures.
  2. Discuss operative techniques of the knee to address ACL repair/reconstruction.
  3. Identify the surgical tools and equipment required for an ACL reconstruction.
  4. Describe the pre and post patient preparation and protocols required for knee arthroscopy.
  5. Describe and implement clinical knowledge and skills of orthopaedic injury evaluation to improve patient outcomes.
