
Melissa Wilkes, PA-C
Melissa Wilkes, PA-C, earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She further advanced her expertise by completing a Doctor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies with a focus in Clinical Orthopaedics from Baylor University.
Prior to joining Orlando Orthopaedic Center, Mrs. Wilkes served as an Orthopaedic Physician Assistant in Hawaii, where she managed a full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions and performed numerous diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Her extensive background includes over 16 years of experience in orthopaedics, trauma, and urgent care, honed through distinguished service in the U.S. Army. During her 26-year military career, she held key orthopaedic staff positions at major medical centers, including Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu and Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, where she also served as a clinical preceptor and student mentor.
Mrs. Wilkes is a board-certified Physician Assistant and a retired Army veteran, bringing a wealth of clinical knowledge, procedural skill, and a dedicated patient-care philosophy to our team.
At Orlando Orthopaedic Center, Mrs. Wilkes treats patients as an assistant to Eric G. Bonenberger, M.D., who specializes in joint replacement, knee, hip, and shoulder surgery, as well as sports medicine and arthroscopy.
