2026 Orthopaedic Update Conference Welcomes More Than 550 Healthcare Professionals
More than 550 healthcare professionals came together for a day of education, collaboration and community impact at the Orlando Orthopaedic Center Foundation’s 22nd Annual Orthopaedic Update Conference on August 8, 2026, at the Rosen Centre Hotel.
The annual conference supports the mission of the 501(c)(3) Orlando Orthopaedic Center Foundation, which is dedicated to advancing sports medicine and orthopaedic education throughout the healthcare community while helping young athletes stay active and healthy.
Throughout the full-day program, attendees explored the latest developments in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal care. Designed for professionals including physical therapists, athletic trainers and other healthcare providers, the conference offered practical education focused on improving patient care, recovery and outcomes. Attendees were also able to earn valuable Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at an affordable cost.
Supporting the Next Generation of Healthcare Professionals
Education extends beyond the conference itself. This year, the Foundation continued its support of future healthcare professionals with a donation to the UCF Student Athletic Trainers’ Organization (SATO).
Through its biannual educational conferences, the Foundation has contributed more than $60,000 to UCF’s Student Physical Therapy Association (SPTA) and SATO since the conference began. An additional $2,000 was awarded through the Orlando Orthopaedic Center Foundation Scholarship to an outstanding UCF student pursuing a degree in Athletic Training.
The Foundation also presented the Chris Payer Honorary Sports Medicine Scholarship to an Seminole County high school student planning to pursue a career in sports medicine.
The scholarship honors the legacy of Chris Payer, a dedicated Orlando Orthopaedic Center Foundation board member who passed away unexpectedly, and recognizes students who share his commitment to sports medicine and the community.
Creating an Impact Beyond the Conference
Proceeds from the Orthopaedic Update Conference help the Foundation expand educational opportunities for healthcare professionals and support programs that encourage youth athletes to build lifelong healthy habits through sports.
