About Dr. Baldwin

William W. Baldwin, M.D., is a fellowship-trained and board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine at the Orlando Orthopaedic Center. He treats musculoskeletal conditions resulting from injury, overuse, and arthritis using minimally invasive techniques. He also specializes in cartilage preservation, the application of biologics to aid in injury recovery, fracture care and arthroplasty.

Growing up in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Baldwin is a native Floridian. He studied Biochemistry at the University of Florida for his undergraduate degree while on a 100% Bright Futures Scholarship, graduating Cum Laude. While pursuing his Bachelor’s degree he also obtained EMT-B certification which led him on a path to medicine. He attended the University of Florida College of Medicine where he was awarded a Lawrence M. Goodman Research Scholarship and graduated with honors in research.

Dr. Baldwin completed his orthopaedic surgery internship and residency at Orlando Health where he received both the Exemplary Colleague Physician Award and CAPI Best Resident Award during his term. Additionally he served as chief resident during his final year of training. Following residency he went on to pursue a Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy fellowship under the world renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews at the James Andrews Institute. Before joining the Orlando Orthopaedic Center in 2022 he practiced in Clermont, FL.

Dr. Baldwin is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy for Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has extensive experience with sports coverage and the care of athletes including serving as a physician to numerous professional and collegiate sports teams, including the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals, Orlando City Soccer Team, Auburn University Football Team and numerous local high schools. Dr. Baldwin is committed to cutting edge treatments and the advancement of medicine and has published numerous research articles. He continues to remain committed to education and serves as faculty to the Orlando Health Orthopaedic Surgery Residency, frequently lecturing and teaching surgical techniques.

He enjoys spending time outside with his family, surfing, fishing, hunting, backpacking, biking, wakeboarding and all the beauty his home state of Florida has to offer.
