Physician Assistant Certified

Derek Zefo, PA-C, earned his B.S. degree in Athletic Training with a minor in Biology at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. He then earned his Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistance from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. 

After obtaining his B.S. in athletic training, Derek interned with the Buffalo Bills for the 1998 and 1999 training camps. He worked as an athletic trainer at several positions in Tennessee before going back to school to earn his Masters. Derek then worked as an orthopaedic physician assistant in Atlanta, most notably for Children’s Orthopaedics of Atlanta.

At Orlando Orthopaedic Center, Derek treats patients as an assistant to Randy S. Schwartzberg, M.D., who specializes in sports medicine, knee, elbow and shoulder surgery.
