About Dr. Goll

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Goll joined Orlando Orthopaedic Center in 1991 after four years as an U.S. Air Force orthopaedic surgeon. His last active duty assignment was as Chief of the Spinal Surgery Service at the Wright-Patterson USAF Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He also served as an assistant clinical professor at Wright State University School of Medicine and at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Goll has served on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Medical Society and as the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at both Orlando Regional Medical Center and Florida Hospital. Dr. Goll’s current appointments and elected positions include serving as a member of the Medical Staff Credentials Committee for Orlando Health, President of the Board of Directors for Orlando Orthopaedic Center and a member of the Board of Directors for the Orlando Orthopaedic Center Foundation.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in biology from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, Dr. Goll received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He completed both his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Following completion of his orthopaedic surgery residency, Dr. Goll elected to pursue advanced spinal surgery fellowship training at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Pennsylvania Hospital along with leading orthopaedic spine surgeons and neurosurgeons.

Dr. Goll continues to remain at the forefront in the field of spine surgery performing advanced spinal cord and nerve decompression techniques, fusions, minimally invasive surgical procedures, microsurgeries and artificial disc replacement surgeries. One hundred percent of Dr. Goll’s surgical practice at the Orlando Orthopaedic Center Spine Center is devoted exclusively to spinal surgery and treating patients with spinal disorders of the back and neck.

Dr. Goll has contributed to numerous professional journals, and has lectured to both national and international health care professionals on a variety of topics related to spinal surgery. Dr. Goll is a Recipient of the 2008 Healthcare Hero award from the Orlando Business Journal.

Dr. Goll is board certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spinal Surgery. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association.

Outside of Dr. Goll’s professional career he enjoys golfing, snow skiing and traveling.

Colin Penn, PA-C

Mr. Penn is a graduate of Ramapo College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Arts in communications. He continued his education at Miami Dade College where he graduated with honors in physician assistant studies. Prior to joining Orlando Orthopaedic Center, Mr. Penn worked as a physician assistant at a Level 1 trauma center in the general surgery/trauma department. His principal responsibility at Orlando Orthopaedic Center is to assist Stephen R. Goll, M.D. in caring for his patients in his orthopaedic spine practice.
