Welcome Julio A. Hernandez, PA-C, ATC, Our Latest Physician Assistant
We are happy to announce Julio A. Hernandez, PA-C, ATC, has joined Orlando Orthopaedic Center to assist Travis B. Van Dyke, M.D., with the management of his sports medicine and joint replacement practice. He is now seeing patients at our Downtown Orlando, Lake Nona and Sand Lake locations.
Julio is a graduate of the University of South Florida, in Tampa, FL, with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. He earned his master’s degree in education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and continued his education at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, earning a master’s of medical science in physician assistant studies.
Prior to joining Orlando Orthopaedic Center, Julio worked as an athletic trainer in the professional baseball setting including stints with the Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins. He also served as a spring training intern athletic trainer for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Julio is certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants and licensed in the state of Florida to provide healthcare under the supervision of a licensed physician. He is also certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) as a certified Athletic Trainer. Julio is responsible for providing patient care which includes in-office evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in addition to assisting Dr. Van Dyke in the operating room.
Together with Dr. Van Dyke, they use a team approach to provide patients with personalized, leading-edge care and excellent sports medicine orthopaedic treatment.
